Summer lovin'

The summer is fast approaching.......
and to be quite honest, I'm not sure how I feel about that. I do really love, love summer. The colors, the clothes, the freedom to do things with my kids. However, it is beyond hot! I mean if we had a beach,  I would welcome the heat with open arms. But all we have here is good ole' man made lakes.
Now, don't get me wrong......I love going to the lake and wake boarding and surfing. But its just not the same as the sand between your toes, the crispy salty air and the smell of seaweed. And even those seagulls that you love to hate.
Thats the inner wanna-be surfer girl coming out.
But I really need to look at the glass half full though. It could always be worse, right?! We could have humidity, or rain with constant doom and gloom. After all, doesn't the warm sunshine just make the heart happy?!
Okay, summer....I guess I'm officially ready for ya!

"relaxed wednesdays"

Happy Wednesday.....
Its that day that everyone hates.......oh wait, thats Monday. But I do feel like people are not to fond of Wednesday either. I might be making that up. I tend to do that often. Not on purpose of course. Just sometimes I think I have heard something before and really, well I guess I just thought it.  Oops!
Okay, this is sounding like I am not a very credible person, but I promise that's not the case.
We all mess up here and there....right?!
But for me Wednesdays are null and void. As said before, my daughter gets out early. So I have learned from past experiences that its better not to get too much on my Wednesday plate, because I tend to forget my daughter at school that way. There is a good explanation in my super mom post, as to why this happens. Yes, thats right...I've got a "good reason".
So after all, Wednesdays have just become our day to "relax".
As if thats really possible with two little boys.....

party-plannerzilla

Its that time of year for me.......birthday planning for my boys!
Race will be three and my baby Zane will be one!! Welp!!
But this year, I'm slacking with my planning. I'm just not motivated to begin the whole process.
A part of it has to do with Zane being my last and I'm not ready to say goodbye to the baby stage and welcome the toddler one.
And don't even think about suggesting another........I think its safe  to say, I've got my hands full!
Another reason is, I tend to want to go all out on the parties and even become "bridezilla" or in this case "party-plannerzilla". I stress myself out and even the hubs.......which in all, tends not to be very enjoyable. Can you blame me for wanting the best for my kids?!
That's just called being a good mom.......least that what I convince myself of anyway.
But no matter how I look at it, the kids are going to continue to get older no matter what.
So I better make the best of it.......
party-plannerzilla here I come!

love/hate

I have recently came to the conclusion that I have a love/hate relationship with Pinterest.
I love looking and getting inspired on outfits, home decor, fitness, diy.....you name it!! I just get so excited at that moment just thinking how I can apply all these things into my life.
Well for me the "reality" of it all, is never as good as the picture/inspiration.  The outfit either doesn't look as good on me, or the diy project looks homemade or whatever the case may be. And that my friends, is where the "hate" part comes in.
Does anyone else experience these problems?! Or is it just me and my lack of creativity and positive attitude?! I don't know.....
But I do know that day after day I continue to look at it, so I guess the love outshines the hate.

Ugh....that's all that can be said about this

Fun, eventful and ugh......that's the words to describe my weekend.
Friday evening we started the family get togethers with a little birthday party for my nephew at my house. And we even had grandmas home cooking....mmmm!!
But Saturday didn't start off so good. We found a scorpion! Ahh...I just hate those little suckers.
Now, let me give you a brief history with my family and scorpions.
We bought a house after we got married, and soon found out very shortly that it was infested with them. There's nothing like laying on the couch pregnant after a long day at work, and having a scorpion fall from the ceiling fan on my pillow. Yeah....that was exciting.
Let's just say we lost count in the 40's.......and those were only the ones inside.  Not to mention one of my daughters got stung on the foot. We ended up moving and swore I would never live in a house again that had scorpions......well, I was wrong.
Sunday came and we had a great Easter celebration with family. After being gone all day we come home and my hubby found another scorpion in our closet, on his shoe. And just a week prior my other daughter got stung in the hand. So we have had 4 scorpions inside in less than 2 weeks. And a total of about 30 in less than 2 years.
To say we are fed up, is an understatement!!! So he we are trying to move. Again.

Some pics of the fun, eventful part of the weekend
my kids are so freaking cute......just saying

Hope you all had a little less bugs on your Easter weekend!!

Easter & new traditions

Happy Easter Eve everyone!!
Tomorrow we get to celebrate the resurrection of our King!!
Yay!!!
Now, it was always a tradition growing up, that we got all dolled up Easter morning for church and the family festivities after. I have pretty much continued that tradition with my own family now, just a little tweaked. Let me explain....
Growing up in the 80's/90's, that meant a big frilly dress with ruffles galore, big hair with a hat and even white socks that had ruffles. Now obviously fashion has changed over the years, but even if it didn't, I can't justify getting an outfit for the kids that they can't really wear over and over again. You may call that frugal, I call that smart. I mean with four kiddos you got to be more practical with things.
Oh geez.... am I really saying this?! I am so not a practical person.
I tend to get the girls a sundress and the boys a button up with shorts. Well, nothing has changed this year except I have got even more relaxed. We are talking flip flops, and DIY stuff. This is sounding like a train wreck. But I promise it will look "put together"......I hope!
I guess I'm not really continuing that tradition after all......
oh well, here's to new ones!

old & outdated

I have to start by saying how proud I am of myself. Yes, I am tooting my own horn. Just go with it for a minute. I am cleaning out my house and actually getting rid of stuff. Ok, this is sounding like I'm a hoarder...eek! Really I'm far from a hoarder, except when it comes to my clothes. For some reason I tend to hold on to my clothes and shoes. I feel as soon as I get rid of something, that very next day I will wish I had it for a certain outfit. Even though I haven't worn it in f-o-r-e-v-e-r (kid from Sandlot voice)! Or I think, it may not be in right now, but fashion always comes back around and I will then wish I had it.
But who am I kidding!! Will I really wear it again......probably not. Were not talking vintage here.....no just some old, outdated clothes. Plus I should know myself by now to realize that even if those styles do come back around, I will want to go shop and get something new anyway.
So, you can understand why this is such a big deal that I am actually getting rid of things. I took my clothes and went and sold them, and was quite shocked how much money I got.  Which has now resulted in me wanting to sell everything!! So much so, that we have decided to have a garage sale this weekend. My hubby jokes with me, saying he better bolt down any and everything he wants, because I just may sell it! And he's right! You never know, what you will find in "my" garage sale.
