casual and coffee

I started my week off with a little coffee date that was much needed with a friend. I know its really mid week. But with all the weekend festivities and family, I just got a little behind.
I had a great weekend though. Jam packed......but great! With the fam here, we hit the town, trying to fit any and everything thing in. I even had Zane's baby dedication on Sunday. Which I am thoroughly annoyed with myself, that I didn't even get one picture of. Well, I remembered at the restaurant and figured I would get some of us all after we ate. Do you think that happened?! Of course not! Zane decided to explode, which resulted with a naked baby. I know, I know....I should know by now with number four that you always have a change of clothes. What I really should have done was taken the picture anyway to remember this story. Where was that idea at the time?! To make matters worse, I even forgot to let my dad know about it.....eek, that's horrible. Well it wouldn't be exciting, fun, crazy and eventful if it was all smooth sailing!
So I was glad to just get casual and relax a minute at Starbucks before another crazy, eventful weekend!

run to the store

Ok.....all I got for you is some self pics! It has been a super busy time for me lately. With Valentine's day, my daughters birthday and sleepover, and this weekend my sister's wedding.....I haven't had much time to blog or even think about any outfits. Cute outfits, that is!
By the way, we survived the sleepover. Not sure what I was thinking with fourteen kiddos. It turned out great but, woah! Just for the record, every time I say woah, its in the Joey voice from blossom.
Showing my age, I know.....
I wasn't going to post my "run to the store" (store meaning shopping, of course) outfit but then thought ya know, maybe just maybe someone would like to see it. Who knows....you might be thinking, what in the world?!
So here it is.....you decide!

cupcake decorating, pizza eating, sleepover

Well I hope everyone enjoyed their Valentine's day. I sure did! But I probably spent it different than most. 7 years ago, God blessed me with the best Valentine's present I could ever had hoped for.....becoming a mommy for the first time. My little Keiley Brynn decided to come a month early and surprise us on that special day. Seriously, how cool is that?! So, now every year its no longer Valentine's day in our house, but a special birthday! And I wouldn't change it for the world.
Usually we opt for a family party with all the extended family.....but since she is getting older she decided she wanted to have a sleepover. Sleepover......did I hear her right?! And she wanted to invite 10 friends, and with my four.....well, we all know what that adds up to be. My first reaction was oh no, I'm not ready for this. A sleepless night, screaming girls........
But it's what she wanted, so how could I say no! Yes, I'm a sucker to that cute little face!
So here I am getting ready for a cupcake decorating, pizza eating, sleepover.
Wish me luck!!

Sunday's, family & traditions

Sunday's always seem to sneak up on me. Its a day that I enjoy very much, but know that my weekend is about over and another week is going to start. Which kind of makes me choke up a bit. I mean who doesn't enjoy a nice weekend?! Who are we kidding, nice or not we still enjoy them.
Sundays are a family day in this household. Even growing up, we always went to church then went out to eat together. I just love the fact that I married into a family that has the same traditions. Although it has changed a bit with all the kiddos now. We no longer go out to eat, but enjoy a home cooked meal at my in-laws. Which to be honest, is sooo much better. For a number of reasons. The food for one is delish and with 7 kids (counting my nieces and nephew) its better to let the them eat and and then go play, while we all get to talk, play games, sleep (not all at the same time) or whatever the afternoon calls for. It just works for us!
I plan to continue this tradition even after my kids are older, and hope they love it as much as me.

isn't my in-laws grass so pretty & divine?!
us Phoenicians go crazy over some good, green grass.
have to let you in on a lil secret.......its fake.
shhh.....nobody has to know

hat kind of day

Ok, usually when I wear a hat its because I'm having a bad hair day. Yup, today is hat day! There is a little explanation as to why though. Not sure anyone actually cares, but guess what?.......I'm going to tell ya anyway. I know you are all just sitting on the edge of your seat waiting, right?!
Well lets start off by saying, I almost always wear my hair curly/wavy. For a couple reasons. First, it is honestly easier and faster to put a few curls in with the curling iron since I have naturally wavy hair. I let my hair air dry, usually overnight, and then touch up the lions mane with some curls in the morning. Second, for some reason I don't like my hair straight. I'm not sure if its my hair, or the way I'm doing it, or what. Just not a fan. Plus, since my hair is so thick, it takes me F-O-R-E-V-E-R to flat iron. And who has that much time with four?!.....not this chick!
So a couple of days ago, I decided to flat iron it. Yes, I'm one of those that doesn't wash my hair everyday. My hairdresser actually suggests I don't.....I'm not dirty, just following orders! My hubby thinks this is the weirdest thing ever. But what do guys know anyway! So anyhow, once again I didn't like how my hair turned out straight, so thought I would try to curl it on top of the flat ironed hair. Well we all know how that works.....it doesn't!
And thats why it is a hat kind of day

Disheveled Look

So, its been one of those mornings! The kind that everything seems to be going wrong and you just wish you could go back to bed, but can't.
Well, it started off with literally running out the door because we were running late for school. For some reason, this happens more times than I would like to admit. Then proceeded with some number 2 in my sons underwear......he can't get that down for the life of him. Which was so bad, I had to put him in the shower....TMI?? Sorry!! All while tying to feed my 9 month old, keep him happy and out of everything. Because he has officially learned to crawl and apparently was going to wither away if I didn't feed him at that exact moment.
In the midst of my mommy chaos, I then get a call from my hubby saying I need to go get one of my daughters from school, because she is sick! Really.....I thought we were finally over the whole flu thing. Guess not!
So after all this, I hope you can forgive me of my disheveled look......because its definitely struggling today. Better luck next time.

Pregnancy Fashion

I originally bought this shirt when I was pregnant. Wanted something I could wear with leggings, because thats all you feel like wearing, but needed to hide my growing belly and my growing bum. Because yes, I was one that got some junk in the trunk.
I actually kind of forgot about it......but it was one of those days. The kind that you stand in your closet for what seems like hours just staring at your clothes, trying to get something to speak to you about what to wear. Nothing did, so I just started trying on outfits and trying on outfits and trying on outfits. And this little green shirt just stuck and I am actually kind of digging the high-lowness! I mean who doesn't love high-low?!!
I guess thats the benefits of buying non-maturnity clothes when your pregnant.......you can wear them again. So there you have it.....my tip for pregnancy fashion.
