All Business

I was asked a while ago as to what I would put together for business work attire. I actually kind of forgot that I was even asked. Not good I know! Don't take it personal, I forget a lot of things. Like my daughter at school.......eek, still sounds pretty bad.

 I usually respond to people right away because I know if I don't then its history. But this one had me stumped! My daily attire could consist of pj's if I wanted it to, so I really have no need for business. For the most part, church is only place that I even attend with somewhat of a dressier atmosphere. Ok, this is sounding like I dont' get out much. I don't do.....it's just I have a whole little posse with me, which makes it not as fun and glorious to get all dolled up. We're talking spit-up, running in heels, and getting them in and out of the car with a skirt, is just not appropriate. 

 I do tend to buy a few pieces here and there, but they just end up sitting lonesome on the hanger. So, all in all.....I'm not sure if I'm the one that is most suitable for this question. But I did try......and this is me trying to be all business.

Mommy's workout

I have been asked by many as to what I do to stay in shape, after having four. First and foremost I am constantly moving. There is no time to sit down with a whole basketball team. Yes I realize that 5, but it sounds more dramatic that way. When there is this many, its all the same right?! Seriously though, someone needs a drink, a diaper needs to be changed.......ok, ok let's be frank. This is what it's really like. Someone spilled water all over the floor, a diaper got taken off and there's brown in it.....I think you get my drift. 

But let's be serious.....we all know, that just moving doesn't keep the average joe "in shape". I regularly attend a gym. And when I say regularly, I can be a bit obsessed at times. I do try to go at least 5 times a week, sometimes more. I need the gym. As a stay home mom, that is "my" thing, that gets me out of the house and allows me to talk/interact with someone over the age of 6. However, I only attend classes. For me this is just the best thing ever! I love the group setting and have made quite a few friends. Now I know this sounds like I attend for social hour, but honestly for me I work harder in this setting. I have a competitive nature and this only drives me to push harder. I mean I don't want to look like the weak link. And my kids love going, so it's a win, win! 

I also try to eat healthy and keep things in moderation. There are times, that I go a little over board on the dessert situation though. But what's life without some sweets in it!

And that's why I workout!

Decorating the Christmas tree

It's Christmas time, It's Christmas time.........hip, hip, hooray!! We finally found the time to put up the lights and tree and do some decorating. I have four little ones that could not wait any longer for this moment. Well, three I should really say. Zane has no idea what is going on & frankly he could care less. As long as he has some food in his belly, he is a happy baby. 

Now decorating with four three, is a little bit of a challenge. They literally just puts things any and everywhere. I had a ton of ornaments on the bottom half of the tree just in the middle. This is a tough lesson to learn as a parent. My ocd starts to kick in and I want to go take everything off and put it in the right place. Because yes there is a right, organized way to decorate the tree! But the kiddos are so proud of themselves and is looks just wonderful to them. So I just leave it. Now you better believe when they are fast asleep, that thing gets a little revamp! 

But the bottom line is, we are making memories........and that's all that matters!

Back to Reality

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Boy did I!! It started with a great, yummy Thanksgiving, hanging with family and playing games. Then Friday the hubs and I did a little stay-cation at the Marriott for the rest of the weekend to celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary. Going on a trip this time of year is always hard. Who's idea was it again to get married around the holidays?! Oh ya, that would have been mine. It seemed like a great idea at the time. Forget the part that you celebrate it every year at that SAME time.....oops! But no matter where it is, I still got to share it with the love of my life! I'm sure you guys just love the mushy stuff.....ha! 

Now, here we all are stuffed and disappointed that the weekend went by so fast. I guess it's back to reality!

Pre-Thanksgiving

I don't know about ya'll.......but I am pretty excited for Thanksgiving!! I do believe this is one of my favorite holidays. Christmas wins hands down as my uber favorite.......not sure that is even a word, oh well! The meaning of Christmas is enough for me, but then you have all the pretty decor, lovely music, fancy smells and just the spirit of it all. It just makes my heart so happy. Ahhhh......now I'm getting excited for Christmas. I literally just caught myself grinning from ear to ear, just writing about it. I'm like a little kid. 

Anyway........Thanksgiving! It has a lot of great qualities about it too. A day full of thankfulness, family and food.....doesn't get much better than that. Especially when my pre-thanksgiving cooking involves going to the store for drinks and ice. Yup, that's right......I'm not a cook. 

It's alright though......I've have come to terms with it.

Today I am headed to my oldest daughters school play. They are having a little Thanksgiving feast, then acting out a play about it. I was informed by her that she is playing a squash. Really, a squash......do they even know who my daughter is? Only the best, cutest little girl in the class & all she gets is a squash?! Ok, Ok......I might be a little biased, but only a LITTLE. Well at least I can tell ya, she will be the darn cutest squash you ever did see. 

So, when I was thinking of what to wear to this shin dig, this hat just jumped out at me. It looks like a hat you would wear when going on an adventure, exploring some where. Least that is what I got out of  it. I then thought this hat, kind of goes hand in hand with Pilgrims and the whole Thanksgiving theme. Why, this would be perfect to wear to the play. Now, I just had to figure out what else to wear. I thought about going with this whole theme, however I immediately shot that idea down. I mean, I don't want to look like I belong in the play after all. 

So, what better way then to wear a pair of shiny, liquid leggings. These don't come out of the closet too often, because my hubs refers to them as stripper pants. Eek.....not a word that I want to be associated with. 

But ya know, I still kind of like them........stripper and all.

Fall Festival

This past Friday night, Piper had a fall festival at her school. We are not good parents when it comes to all the different school events. I mean who likes to go to all these events with thousands of other kids & in the cold, never the less?! Not me! That's horrible isn't it?! And the hubs feels the same way about it.......my poor kids, they are doomed! Now when it comes to a pumpkin patch or Disneyland, or any other amusement park, we are all game. Let me just tell you how game we are. 

This past summer, we took the fam to Disneyland, along with my sis, niece and nephews. Now we didn't just go as average people......oh no, we all wore matching shirts! Hot pink, I may add. You better believe it.....we were "that" family. But it was so much fun, and a trip we will never forget. 

Now for Piper, being that this was her first school event, she really wanted to go. So we bundled the gang up and off to the festival we went. And I have to admit, it really wasn't that bad after all. 

So we might have just turned a corner in the parenting world.

Big Boy

I can not believe how quickly the time is flashing before my eyes! It seemed like yesterday, that I was pregnant with Zane. Here is is today 6 months old, and that means he is half way to one.......boo! And let me just tell ya how big he is......holy hannah!! I believe we may have a football player in the making.    Not only is he a little chunk, but he has 7 teeth! Yes, you read that right seven! AHHH......he's growing up too fast. 

The hubs and I decided he is our last. Well, let me rephrase that......I decided he was our last. The hubs would have more......is he nuts?! So, I am trying to cherish and saver every little minute. With that being said, there are just some days that fashion is on the back burner to my little ones. So I am sorry folks, but today is a workout attire kind of day. Is that bad that I didn't even workout & I'm strolling through the city as if I did?! No one has to know right? Now, if this continues to happen, I may need an intervention......but for now, it's all good! I hope!

Super Mom

I'm about to give you some top secret info about myself! Not sure I should be revealing this, but hey, the first step is always admitting it. First, let me tell you that the number one question I get from friends, other moms & just about everyone........how do you do it with four? They then proceed to tell me, how calm and collective I am. For the most part I think they are right. Nothing like tooting my own horn or anything! But anyone out there that is a mom of at least one (that was kind of dumb....if your a mom, you have at least one kid....duh), can tell you that it is a lot of work. Now imagine adding 3 more to the mix! 

I don't want this to come off the wrong way. I LOVE each one of my kids and THANK God for them everyday, but the reality is, it can be hectic from time to time. There are a lot of things to remember and occasionally things get forgot. So, before I go any further, I'm just going to lay it out there........I forgot my youngest daughter at school yesterday.......no bueno, eek, yikes!

Now, before you judge me......let me explain myself. I have 2 kiddos in school, that don't attend the same one & of course have different schedules. Now every Wednesday Piper gets out at 1:30......I know this! However, with the holiday on Monday, my brain was not registering what day it was. Which lead to the forgetting her there. 

Ok, can you now kind of see how this happened?.....or do I still get my super mom title stripped?!  And, please tell me I'm not the only one this has happened too?!

Saturday's Best

Our church has recently started Saturday night services. Well, when I say recently I am referring to a year or so. That is still considered recently, right?! The hubs and I decided Saturday's would work better for us. I mean we could actually get to church on time. Living 45 mins away and getting 6 people ready for church at 9am was a challenge. Who am I kidding.......we still manage to be 5-10 mins late almost every week.....ugh! 

I used to be a very punctual person, but my hubs on the other hand, well let's just say if he is 5 mins late to him that's early. His car license plate isn't L8AGINN (late again) for no reason. And now I have managed to take on his irresponsibility. Like how I blame him?!.....well its definitely not my fault, kidding!

 I am still not used to "Saturday" church. I mean growing up my whole life attending church on Sunday and now switching it up, just takes some time to get used to.

Painting the town Red

As a mother of four, I'm sure my definition of "painting the town red" is quite different than to the average person. Let's be quite honest.....this means I got out of the house without any kids and got to go somewhere besides the grocery. So as Friday night approached, I could hardly control my excitement! I was going to be attending a jewelry party. Not only was I getting out of the house with no kids, but I was also going to be S to the H, shopping!!!! This was the best of both worlds. You can now understand why this was such a big deal.

 I got to see so many great friends and OF COURSE purchased some pretties as well. Not sure the hubby was too excited about that part.......but happy wife, happy life, right?! I try to convince him of that motto anyway.  I could not be more happy with the little lovelies that came home with me. So, all in all, I had a wonderful time "painting the town red"!!
